Jennifer, a devoted wife, sister, beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away in the arms of her husband and two daughters at the age of 74. A cherished spouse for 54 years. She dedicated her life to her family, a role she embraced with great love.
Jennifer was born on February 3rd , 1950 in San Jose, CA, and married CJ Ihrig on June 13, 1970. With a vibrant spirit and great sense of humor, Jennifer was cherished by those around her. She is remembered for the warmth she brought to every gathering, the kindness she showed to everyone she met, and her unshakeable devotion to her loved ones.
As the proud mother of two daughters and the adoring grandmother of six, Jennifer filled her home with affection and cherished every moment with her family. For her 26 years as a Navy spouse, Jennifer opened her home to countless families for love and support and spent her time as a treasured volunteer. Her legacy lives on through memories she created.
Jennifer is loved and missed by her husband, CJ, her sister, Martha (Jack) Wilkerson, her daughters, Melissa (Stephen) Smittle and Lauren (Pete) Lauder, and her grandchildren, Carlin, Campbell, Elizabeth, James, Lydia, and Jude. Her love, laughter, and the joyful moments she shared will forever be a testament to a life well-lived.
In honoring her memory, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and the profound impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held in Leland, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association by clicking HERE.
